About B Corp

B stands for benefits for all. B Corp is a recognition for companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.

Only companies that obtain over 80 points out of a possible 200 in the Impact Assessment can get B Corp certified. With our score of 85.3 points, the certification is a true testament to all we have achieved so far but also provides a roadmap as to what we can do better. Worldwide there are more than 6,300 certified B Corporations and we look up to fellow B Corps Tony Chocolonely and Patagonia, leaders in bringing about change in their industries.

Why B Corp

“B Corp is a wonderful framework that allows businesses to measure themselves and take meaningful steps towards creating impact in a broad range of areas.”

Our Motivation

We’ve seen the ins and outs of the furniture industry. There’s a lot of waste production and record CO2 emissions, which negatively impact the planet and our children’s future. We weren’t proud to be contributing to this. Inspired by companies worldwide using business to benefit people, communities, and the planet, we set out to make a change in our company, hoping to inspire the entire furniture industry to do the same.

The global B Corp movement perfectly aligns with our mission to disrupt the furniture industry. It wants to change the system. As a community, B Corp takes collective action to approach critical challenges in today’s society and environment; we are proud to now be a part of this.

The purpose behind our efforts

“We want to show that sustainability and design can go hand in hand. Not only for us but also for future generations.”

Our Journey

As we move forward, we will continue to look for new and innovative ways to reduce our environmental impact and make a positive difference in the world.

What's Next

As part of our efforts, we have initiated a project to measure the CO2 emissions of our production processes. By doing so, we can identify areas where we can improve and reduce our carbon footprint. But measuring our emissions is only the first step. We also want to take action to compensate for any remaining CO2 emissions. That's why we are exploring various ways to offset our carbon footprint, such as investing in renewable energy and participating in carbon offset programs.

In addition we are developing an endless-life service package that offers a variety of services – including repairs, refurbishments, upgrades, and after-use returns – to extend the lifetime of our products. Through these services, we hope to offer our customers a more sustainable solution to their needs, while at the same time reducing waste and minimising the need for new products to be manufactured.
